Who’s ready for Would You Buy It Wednesday? Woohoo!
Here’s how it works…every Wednesday, I post a picture of something I saw at a thrift store, estate or yard sale, etc. Then, I’d like to hear from you – would you buy it? Tell me why or why not and what you would do with it (fix it up, repurpose, etc.). THEN, (here’s where the linky party comes in!), you can post a link to something YOU found and get us to weigh in. Anytime I walk away from a sale or store I’m always wondering “if someone else was with me, what would they have bought? did I miss a hidden treasure?”. So this is just a way for us to do that virtually.
Here’s my item to share this week…
A nice rusty pulley! My research tells me this is perhaps a well pulley. I found it at an estate sale in my neighborhood last weekend. So, would you buy it? Would you use it as a decoration or put it to work?
Now, Here’s How YOU Can Participate:
- Comment on my post; let me know if you would buy the item I blogged about above.
- Create your own blog post re: an item(s) you saw this week while you were out thrifting/shopping/junking.
- Link up to your post below to invite all of blogville to weigh in on your find(s)! You have until Saturday at Midnight ET.
- Please grab the “Would You Buy it Wednesday” linky button below OR at least include a link back to my blog.
- Check out what others are linking up below and let them know if YOU would buy it!
Most of all, have fun! Can’t wait to see what you guys link up this week!

I'm with Lesa! I would have bought it an hung a galvanized or zinc bucket from it with a plant inside. Or better yet, mount it next to my drawing table and put paint brushes inside the bucket! Okay, getting back to devouring my grilled men cheese now. ;-D
Yes, I would definitely buy it! I would hang it inside and then hang some cool looking rope through the pulley and then attach a small frame on each end of the rope with pictures in the frames, so the pulley would actually be the "hanger" for the frames. Just found your blog today and I love it!
This is a definite yes! It would end up as decoration somewhere – love the industrial look. Am linking up my cool find tomorrow!
Hm, I would buy it and spray paint with white and make it a wreath for every season
Thanks for joining us at the Creative Bloggers' Party & Hop.
I'd definitely buy the old pulley and I'd put it to use outside. I'd hang a flower basket from the pulley and attach the pulley to a wall-mounted hook. (one's used for hanging baskets) Am I making any sense? Anyway, love your great find! Lesa
Hi Stephanie,
I'd buy it and use it to hang ribbons in my craft room. I'm attracted to anything rusty that had another life before I found it. Love your party!
Cheryl
Hmmm…how much was it? I would probably buy it. I have a thing for old, rusty metal. See my linky (rusty wheel)…
I WOULD buy it…and I would probably tie a burlap ribbon on it and just hang it on my door or a wall like a wreath…because I turn everything into a wreath
I don't have anything to post this week…but I love the idea of your party so I'll be on the lookout for next week. Very clever! Chat soon, Laurel
It's a very cool piece and I might buy it at the right price. Outside as a decoration on one of my outbuildings. I love this party! hugs, Linda
I would definitely buy it. We have a farm so I would use it as a decoration in the yard or on a building. Nice find! Thanks for hosting!
Karen
For the right price, I would buy it and then resell it — vintage industrial is such a great look and this would fit in perfectly.
I not only WOULD buy it, but I DID buy one just like it–mine was total rust. Hung it up on the bunkhouse with some other "junk" and it looks great.
I would buy it for the right price. I would use it as decor on our porch facing the barn and our own well.
Part of my post disappeared. I have to go fix it!
Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for hosting another week of WYBIW. Love the old pulley, it has such a great architectural look to it. I would buy it and probably would prop it up on a bookshelf for a decoration. Since I always seem to be turning everything into photo displays, if it would look right I would attach some small old photos with magnets. It's a great piece!
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Jane
