I was with some friends yesterday and we were talking about finding freebie curbside items along the side of the road. One of my friends saw a piece of furniture on her way to meet us but it was too heavy to get on her own so she had to pass it up. The same afternoon, as I was running a Little League errand, I screeched my car to a halt on the side of a road. It was trash day and I had found a treasure!
Now, keep in mind, my van was already pretty full with the items that didn’t sell at Saturday’s farm sale. But I didn’t want to pass it up…so…
Yep, I realize that probably looks a bit sad. No passengers for me!
It’s a nice sturdy bench with just a couple of issues…
First, some of the wood top is peeling off. I think I can glue it back down before painting it.
The biggest issue though are these two holes…
They are in the top of the bench and are the exact same size.
What do you think caused this?
What would you do with these holes? I have an idea (going to keep it my secret for now!) but would love to hear your thoughts…

Blahaha! Yep, it looked like a chair at first glance.
I think you have a backless chair and the holes you are looking at are what held the back to the seat.. But now what to do after you plug up the holes???
Let me guess. You are going to transform it into a wall bookshelves decoration just like what my grandfather did to our broken chair.

Stephanie…looks like a chair bottom. The holes are for the back of the chair. At least that’s what it looks like to me.
