Inspiration

I was going to participate in Wordless Wednesday today but well, I’m not feeling wordless! ;-)

First, I’d like to thank all of you who commented on my curbside find last week that was a bench and then it was revealed to be a chair seat! It’s getting “weathered” right now…I’ll fill you in more on that later.

I had a rough week last week – I wasn’t feeling well plus I think I was coming down from the high of selling at the Rabon Creek Farm Fair. It was SO much work but SO much fun! This week I’m feeling much more like myself, I’m getting things done and am looking forward to a trip to New York City right around the corner!

So today, as a part of getting myself back on track, I’d like to talk about some ladies that are inspiring me right now.

First up is Allison from Refunk My Junk. I’ve been reading Allison’s blog for a while and she does some great stuff. But what really made me an Allison fan was when she posted some of her personal story…Like me, she had a successful career in banking (well I still have one but she has left that), she has a husband and one son that she loves dearly, and she was feeling like she wanted to slow down and do something from her heart – like turning her hobby into a business. I highly encourage you to read her story and check out her blog!

Next up is my friend Debbie from Redeemed Furniture. I’ve talked about her on here before but she continues to amaze me with all she does. She went from working a “regular” job to picking up a paint brush which then turned into her now booming business! She does a TON of custom painting work (which I am just too much of a scaredy cat to do) and is blowing me away with her talent. She doesn’t have a blog right now because she’s so busy painting but I’m working on her about that (tsk tsk)! You can however follow her on Facebook!

Last but certainly not least is Donna from Funky Junk Interiors. Yes, I’m sure you are thinking “duh, we know about her!” because yes, she has a HUGE following. But can I just tell you, more than the projects and great posts she does, I’m so inspired by her heart. She was a speaker at Bella Rustica last weekend and I’m so sad I couldn’t go. I did chat online with her beforehand though to tell her how much I loved her post on Adoption because we have been blessed by adoption as well. She posted this week about how much Bella Rustica touched her and filled her heart. Then in her post “Dreams or reality? It’s up to you” she talked about her dreams and making a dream checklist. So beyond the awesome projects and linky parties, what I really keep going back to her blog for are those posts that fuel my heart and inspire me. If you haven’t taken the time to catchup on her blog, do so now!

I would like to leave you with this today…I’ve been enjoying Darren Hardy’s latest article series titled “Crank Up the Chutzpa!”. In the last installment he quoted Debbie Ford, who is best known for Shadow Process, and her latest book, Courage: Overcoming Fear & Igniting Self-Confidence…

Debbie offers this simple formula:
1. Write down the areas of your life you aren’t happy with right now.
2. Write down why.
3. Write down the vision you have for those areas of your life. In other words, what would make each of those areas excellent in your eyes.
And then Darren Hardy added…
4. What three things can you do starting this week that will begin the process about realizing those visions or enacting change so you don’t wallow or stay stuck in complaints.

What is it you want to change or do that you haven’t done before? Let’s all band together, support each other and make our dreams happen!

Hugs,

Stephanie

  1. Allison says:

Great post! I will be jotting down some dreams in honor of you tonight!

  2. Thank-you so much for including me in your post! I’m so honoured!

As for your list at the end? I just did it myself. Even those that post about it need constant reminders. So… thank-you!
