Free Day at the Farm {MB Demos}

I’m participating in a very cool event in May that I’m excited to share with you!

Remember last year when I participated in the Farm Fair at Rabon Creek Farm? It was a wonderful day and such a beautiful setting. They are doing the event again this September – more about that soon!

I will be there May 11th with my Painted Poppies business partner Debbie Dather and two other vendors. We’ll all be doing free demos from 10a-1p! Here’s how it will work: Each vendor will do the same demo every hour for 3 hours (see exact times below) so you can rotate and take part in each demonstration!

What: Demos, makes & takes, and Q&A with 3 local vendors

Where: Rabon Creek Farm, 124 Phillips Lane, Fountain Inn, SC

When: May 11, 10a-1p (demo times vary, see each listing below)

A little more about the vendors and demos:

Painted Poppies (that’s us!): We will be demonstrating the Maison Blanche La Craie paint and answering all of your paint questions! Make & take projects available (prices vary). Demos at 10:15a, 11:15a and 12:15p.

LeBrun Designs: LeBrun Designs is a Landscape Design company who has a slight obsession for Potted Gardens and succulent plants. Donna will be on hand share her potted gardens expertise. You provide the pot and plant (prices will vary) and she’ll provide the rest! Demos at 10a, 11a, and 12p.

Karisma by Kara: Owner Kara Mavar makes beautiful handmade jewelry using materials like aluminum and copper wire! She will be on hand at the farm to do demonstrations and make initial rings on the spot for customers! Demos at 10:30a, 11:30a, and 12:30p.

Note: Cash and Checks accepted. Credit card availability depends on internet connectivity (did we mention we’ll be on a FARM!).

We would love it if you’d join us! RSVPing is not required but to help us ensure we have enough supplies on hand, we’d appreciate it if you’d reply to our Facebook invite here.

Please share with your friends!

Hugs,

Stephanie

Can You Hear It {Chirp Chirp Chirp}

I just wanted you to know I’m here. I’m alive. I’m well.

I have big stuff going on…but I’m afraid I can’t say exactly WHAT yet…

Soon, very soon I promise!

No, I’m no pregnant. Nope, didn’t win the lottery. Oh no, didn’t get selected for my own reality pickers series either. Not quite as big as any of those things! But still in my world, it’s big. So stay nearby ok? Don’t venture too far!

Love,

Stephanie

Help Bundle Up with Socks for Sandy

If you’ve been anywhere near a TV, radio, computer etc. in the last week then you know about Hurricane Sandy and the destruction it left in the Northeast.

There are tons of folks who need our help and if you’re like me, sometimes you just want to do something more tangible than donate money.

Good news! There’s something YOU can do TODAY to help the folks impacted by Hurricane Sandy! In comes Laura…

Laura Kuhlmann, a fellow blogger and member of Hometalk who lives in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, was fortunate that her neighborhood was spared with only minor damages. But just a few minutes down the road, entire areas were wiped out including Mystic Island, Osborne Island, and Tuckerton Beach. Long Beach Island, just across the bay, also suffered extraordinary damage just as every barrier island and shore town up and down New Jersey’s once-beautiful coastline has.

Laura couldn’t stop thinking about something her sister-in-law (volunteering at the local hurricane shelter) told her: that people were walking around barefoot and just wanted a pair of socks. Even as donations started to pour in to the shelter, Laura couldn’t get the idea of warm socks out of her head and decided she wanted to collect some warmth on a large scale for the victims of Sandy. So here we are, asking for folks to send socks, gloves and winter hats.

PO Box 520
Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087

All packages should be postmarked by Friday, November 9, 2012

For more information about Laura and the socks, read her blog post here.

I grew up in Florida and am well aware of the devastation hurricanes can do. I can’t imagine being temporarily displaced from my home let alone losing my home and it’s contents permanently. These folks have enough on their minds, let’s take care of getting them warm.

Want to help even more? Spread the word! Organize sock collections at your church or school! Mail your box today!

It’s a little way we can all make a difference.

Hugs

Stephanie

P.S. – As always, you can also donate to the Red Cross!
