Hi blogville,

How is everyone? We’re preparing for summer. My son’s last year of preschool is coming to an end (Kindergarten next year! sniffle sniffle). We’re planning summer vacations and are trying to adjust to the already warm temperatures.

I’ve been painting a ton lately but have no final pictures to show for it yet. I’m going to do several posts very soon with some before/afters. (pinky swear)

In the meantime, I thought I would share a few fun items I’ve pinned to Pinterest lately. (and if you aren’t on Pinterest yet, come on!).

First, isn’t this a great way to reuse an old shutter?

Here’s a great way to reuse an old ladder AND provide a little bird bath or butterfly resting spot!

How about this for easy? Find a frame, add some burlap and top with an awesome summer item like this starfish!

Have a bunch of old vintage jars? How about using them for a fun summer accent or centerpiece?

Lastly, check out this beautiful, simple summer mantel.

Have you started your summer decorating? What do you do to “lighten up” your interior?

The Rusted Chain – Have you ever checked out this wonderful little shop? Her jewelry is amazing! I wanted to share something specific from her shop though…for the month of January (only a few days left!) $10 from each purchase of this necklace will go to ICT S.O.S. – an organization to help stop human trafficking. I ordered mine!

Weekly Love #10

Hey blogville!

I know I know, I’ve been a bit MIA lately. First, my iPhone is very distracting! Second, I’m trying to clean my house – it’s a disaster and my vintage finds / refurnishing projects are threatening to take over. Third, my “real” job during the week has been a bit demanding. How rude right?

Anyway, I did manage to post the Would You But It linky party earlier in the week so if you haven’t added your item, remember you have until end of day today (Sunday) to do it!

Now, I’ve got a couple of goodies for you today for Weekly Love!

  • Potentially Beautiful - have you checked out this blog? I love Gloria’s blog header, so pretty. But today I want to share a link to her recent blog post…all about her first auction experience! I’ve never been to an auction and have been itching to go. I’m a bit nervous though so I was happy to see Gloria’s post. Now I really want to go! Have you been to an auction?   • Miss Mustard Seed App – We all know and love MMS. But did you know she has an app?! Yep, she’s cool like that. Just download her FREE app and you can read all her blog posts easily on your smartphone. How smart is that?
  • Holidays – Ok, big disclaimer here. This will be your first holiday season with me and I need to warn you. I LOVE the holidays. I mean LOVE them. I used to be one of those people who was done Christmas shopping in October and wrapping in November. I say used to because now I have a child and a puppy and a booth and well, life is a bit busier. To help me organize my ideas for this year, I’ve started my Holidays Pinterest board! How’s everyone’s weekend going?

I had an exciting junking day Saturday! I went to an antique shop that was having a clearance sale (everything had to go THAT day) and took several things off their hands including a new mahogany dining table for my house for only $50! More to come on the other treasures.

Now, better late than never, Weekly Love!

Bloggy Book Club – Like to read? Want to share your love of books with other bloggers? Check out Vintage Wanna Bee’s post about her new Bloggy Book Club! I plan to join once I can finally find the time to read a book. I’ve bought a lot of books lately, does that count?!

Design*Sponge – Speaking of books, who out there has purchased the new Design*Sponge book? I preordered mine and it arrived yesterday. I haven’t made it all the way through but I am definitely impressed so far! Check it out here. Oh, and you’ll even get to see a couple of projects by Barb Blair, of Knack, who lives right here in the same town as me and is extremely talented!

Burlap – I know I know…Loving burlap isn’t something new! But I just had to share one of my recent Pinterest boards – Burlap Bests! I found a bunch of cute burlap projects and wanted to share the ideas with you! Check them out here.

Weekly Love #6

Hi friends!

You guessed it…it’s time for the Weekly Looooovvvveee. (I swear I really need to get someone to do a voice over for this in a low sexy voice!).

Today’s love is all about Pinterest.

I’ve talked about it before – here, here and here. I love it. Some of you love it. If you don’t love it you must not be on Pinterest because believe me if you were, you would love it too!

Here are a few things I’ve found recently via Pinterest that I adore.

I love love love MAPS so I have a whole board devoted to nothing but map projects I’ve found, like this one…

Convinced you need to be on Pinterest yet? I love it because if I’m looking for an idea, let’s say about maps, you can just search for maps and a TON of map projects come up!

I did a search for antique booths and came up with loads of booth inspiration…
