Garden Tour Anyone?

I had the opportunity this past Friday to join my in-laws on the Greenville Council of Garden Club’s Spring garden tour.

I had never been on a tour like it before and it was a fantastic experience!

I was excited to see some “junking/repurposing” elements in the gardens.

Take a look at the photos below for a bit of the tour!

Love the mirror on this porch, lots of architectural interest!

Great old table.

Repurpose an old frame for display on a fence!

Another way to repurpose an old window or mirror.

Old rusty urn looks fabulous in the garden

I was never sure if I liked bottle trees but
now I’m sure I DO!

Great rusty piece to add interest in the garden.

This wall/fence on the deck is made of old shutters!

Broken pot? Don’t throw it away! Simply lay it on it’s side!

Great architectural piece topped with
moss & plants for the center of the garden table

Porch furniture retro style

You could easily do this with old bottles / jars.
These were simply tied to sticks and stuck in the ground!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the garden tour! So many ideas, so little time right?

Do you use “junk” or repurposed items in your garden? I would love to hear about it!

To Booth or Not To Booth – Part 2

I realize I already wrote a blog post today but I just had to share my news!

You may recall my recent post “To Booth or Not To Booth“. Well, I answered that question today….

To booth.

I officially signed a 3 month lease today and will open my booth the first of April! I’m excited, happy, terrified, and nervous all at the same time. I’ll be at Southern Estates Antiques here in Greenville, SC.

My hopes – I will have an enormously popular booth that folks will enjoy visiting and love shopping in.

My fears – I will be a complete bomb and no one will like me my stuff.

So stay tuned to see what happens! Oh and thanks again for everyone that answered my questions about this. I’m sure I’ll have more!

Antique Trippin Around Town

I had a chance to explore a couple of antique stores/malls the other day in a rare few hours of alone time. I mentioned in an earlier post that I am exploring the possibility of getting my own booth. Make sure you head on over to that post and sound off.
Now back to the shopping…one of the places I checked out was Antiques on Augusta here in Greenville, SC. Barb over at Knack has a booth there (picture of her booth below). The shop had so much to see – it was very nicely laid out and well staged.  I did make a few purchases and will share those later but for now, let’s take a tour around the shop.

Love these bottles!

Antique hat boxes

Lots of old books

I am digging that chippy crate!

So many great painted pieces in this booth.

So what did I buy? Stay tuned…
