My Latest Frame Project

By now, if you’ve read much of my blog, you’ll know I LOVE frames! There are so many uses for them!

I try to pick them up when I find them at a reasonable price as was obvious when I shared one of the pictures from my haul last weekend…

Well, I decided that second frame you see up there would be PERFECT for a project I’ve been wanting to do! It already had little eye hooks drilled into various places along the back.

Here’s my inspiration…

And here’s just a SNEAK PEEK at what I’ve been working on.

That’s all for now! hee hee, sorry for being a tease :-)

I need to take some better pictures and write out the instructions…I mixed two Annie Sloan chalk paint colors and couldn’t be happier! Stay tuned!

Remembering Our Pets

Donna over at Funky Junk Interiors is doing a special Pets linky party today! It is a great time for us to stop & share funny things about our pets and/or remember pets that have left us for heaven.

You’ve all met my dog Chance…she’s my “junking assistant”.

Chance showed up at our place one day in really bad shape. She had a large mammory mass and without an owner they wouldn’t operate. So we decided to pay for the surgery and then nurse her back to health so she would be adoptable. That was about 6 years ago so I guess she’s staying!

I’d like to dedicate today’s post though to our dog Allie.

Allie, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, was the first dog my husband and I got together. She was 3 months old when we brought her home and she was at the akward stage where her head was bigger than her body!

She was the greatest dog you could ever ask for. She’d climb up in bed with me if I was sick, she’d guard the house if a stranger came to the door, and she could play ball & frisbee for hours.

Last year, when Allie was 11, we got sudden news that she had an abdominal mass. Given her age etc. operating wasn’t a good option. We are thankful we were able to bring her home for a few months of “extra” time. Last November, we lost our precious Allie to heaven. We miss her every day.

RIP Allie dog. We love and miss you.

If you have a pet you’d like to share, blog about it and link up to Donna’s party.

Blogger Tips & Tricks

I admit it, I’m a technology geek and LOVE the internet & email and spend way too much time on both! Occasionally, if you don’t mind, I’ll share some tips that I learn or come across from others that I think might help you as fellow bloggers or readers.

Donna over at Funky Junk Interiors did a fantastic job documenting Blog Tips. Even though I think I’m pretty internet savvy, I learned a LOT reading her tips. Below are some of the highlights…

  • Replying to Comments: It drives me crazy when someone leaves me an awesome comment and when I try to write them back it says “no reply” in the email address. So then I have to either go to that person’s profile and hope I can find an email address OR just post a comment back to them and hope they go back to read it. To avoid this issue, please go right now (I’ll wait while you put down your coffee/wine/chocolate) and update your settings. Go to…dashboard, then settings, then comments and scroll down to Comment Notification Email. Fill in your email and click save settings. There, that was easy peasy right?
  • Profile Settings: Along the same lines, there are several things you can do to make it easier for folks to comment on YOUR blog. Check them out here.
  • Electronic Signatures: Want a cool signature? I had no idea there were free signature creators available. Check this out. I made mine (at the bottom of this post) using those steps.
In addition to all of these great blog tips, there’s also a TON of great other stuff over at Funky Junk Interiors so go take a look, you might want to follow her. Just don’t forget to follow me too, ok? Cause if you are here and are still reading all of this, I can tell I like you. :-)

Ok, I think I’ve given you all enough homework blogwork for today. Feel free to email me or comment if you have questions, complaints or other tips!
